The Wait Begins. . .

Last Friday, we anxiously opened a brown package enclosing our 26-page profile book. The profile book includes our carefully-written letter to birth parents, a glimpse of our life story and beliefs, and lots of smiling photos of us along the way.

It Could Happen Any Time!
The four Bethany Christian Services agencies in Virginia have a copy of our book on hand to show anyone who enters their doors who, for whatever reason, cannot sustain the care of a newborn baby. So, we could get a call any time now!

Possible Scenarios
A birth mom could ask to meet us a month or two before she gives birth. Or, we could receive a cold call from our agency. A cold call would be a case where a mother is in the hospital ready to give birth and has decided not to keep the baby.

In either case, according to Virginia law, the birth parent/s have 10 days to reconsider placing their child for adoption. Therefore, it's likely an interim family will take the newborn baby into their home until the 10-day waiting period is over and the child truly becomes our little boy or girl. Thankfully, our agency is experienced with various cases and will prayerfully do all they can to guide us and the birth parents.

Last Fundraising Phase: $4,000 Needed by July 4th!
When we bring our baby home, we will need to provide $17,000 to our agency. At this time, we are $4,000 short. Would you consider helping us reach our final goal?

Prayer for Peace
Pray that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus during these exciting yet uncertain days ahead. And as you pray this, please remember the birth parents and the staff from our agency as well. We look forward to announcing the birth of our son or daughter soon!
