The Firefly Jar is Full!

As many of you know, we began fundraising in March. Now, eight months later, we are pleased to announce that our firefly jar is full, meaning, we have reached our fundraising goal! To our amazement, the jar is not only full, it is overflowing, so we'll put the extra towards adoption attorney and finalization costs (which we initially planned to cover ourselves).

The financial barrier was one looming reason we initially hesitated to take the leap to adopt. And yes, the entire process up to this point has caused us to learn hard lessons of endurance. Yet we would not trade these lessons for anything because of the pure joy God has granted us through the wait.

We have seen the hearts of God's people who care for the fatherless not only through financial gifts, but also by prayers (please keep praying!) and thoughtful words. Over the last year, we've benefitted from building friendships with other adoptive/foster families through our adoption agency, in our church, and in other random ways (like meeting adoptees via Craigslist)!

Thank you for helping us raise the funds needed to adopt Baby Matías! Keep praying with us that the right birth mother will choose us so that we can show the love of Jesus Christ to the boy or girl God has for our family.
